Here are our top picks for the coming days:

1. Slice of Science

From excavating dinosaur bones to testing out virtual reality, the University of Warwick is serving up fun for all the family with the return of a Slice of Science this Sunday (12 March).

The free event, organised as part of British Science Week, features a jam-packed afternoon of workshops, activities and experiments.

It gives people of all ages the opportunity to explore the "wonderful world" of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths).

Participants will be able to join experiments demonstrating the impact of extreme temperatures on the human body, learn how to build washing machines using Lego bricks, explore space in a portable planetarium and get involved with programming challenges hosted by staff from the University of Warwick and students, and STEM Ambassadors from Jaguar Land Rover.

More details here.

2. Free Squash Taster

Local ladies are being encouraged to get their game on and try squash and racketball for free at Kenilworth Tennis Squash and Croquet Club this March.

The Crackley Lane Club is inviting players of all abilities to the women's-only event which will run between 12.30pm and 2.30pm on Saturday, March 11.

The event is being organised to celebrate International Women's Day and encourage more females to get on the court.

There will be a mixture of female coaches and experienced female team players there on the day to run the activities.

Attendees will not need to bring their own equipment, aside from a clean pair of trainers!

More details here.

3. Free Valuation

Having a clear out and want to know if your trinkets could be worth something?

Well Hansons auctioneers is hosting a free valuation day in Kenilworth today (March 9) at St Francis of Assisi Church Hall!

The Warwick Road church will be open from 10am to 4pm, and locals can turn up to receive a valuation without booking an appointment.

Hansons was recently in the local news for selling a letter written by a six-year-old King Charles to his 'ill Granny' for £7,000. The letter was found in a south Warwickshire loft by a couple who did not even know they had it.
