Here are our top picks for the coming days:

1. Textiles and Tipples

A day of artisan wares and workshops is set to come to Kenilworth this weekend.

'Textiles and Tipples' will run at East Chase Farm on Saturday bringing a range of stalls to town.

Guests will be able to see talented textile artists demonstrate their skills, as well as turn there own hand to making something to take away.

Throughout the day there will be workshops where guests will be able to create their own zippy bag or even a Baker Boy hat.

The event is being run in partnership with Cloth Atelier and will feature a number of local businesses including East Chase Distillers.

2. Saturday Signing

Head to Kenilworth Books in Talisman Square on Saturday (July 22) for local author Chris Davies' book signing.

'Prickly-Pong Island and the Revenge of Captain Red' is a thrilling, page-turning, animal/pirate adventure set in the islands of the South Pacific.

The story involves the theft of an ancient treasure that belongs to a wise, Eco-friendly, Polynesian Chief, and his humble island people who attempt to win it back from a ruthless, fanatical pirate Captain, claiming he is related to the notorious buccaneer Black Beard.

3. Jekyll & Hyde

Made in 48 Hours will return to the Talisman Theatre with this year's offering, 'Jekyll & Hyde'.

Yet again the team will be attempting the seemingly impossible - learning lines, rehearsing dance moves, finding costumes, putting up the set and delivering a rip-roaring comedy all in just two days.

This story was initially intended to form the basis of Made in 48 Hours' production for the summer of 2020, so writer and producer Sam Harris is "delighted" the company will finally be able to bring its twist on this classic tale to the stage.

Those with a nose for on-the-edge drama are in for another evening of entertainment and hilarity as the company try to make it through the play without forgetting their lines, bumping into each other, or falling over the set - all under the watchful eye of director Jo Gough, who made her directorial debut last year.

Made in 48 Hours has been organising these productions on an annual basis since 1999, when the concept was born, whilst Sam Harris and her husband James, were at university in Sheffield.

4. Open Day

A Kenilworth care provider is inviting the public to a one-off open day after a strong recovery following its temporary closure due to a flood from a burst pipe.

Kare Plus Kenilworth in Talisman Shopping Centre is holding an open day on Friday July 21 to enable new customers to see what the company is all about, and for prospective staff members to find out more about working in the care sector.

The open day promises an enjoyable experience, as attendees will have the opportunity to indulge in complimentary cakes and refreshments while mingling with like-minded individuals.

5. Cycling Awareness Day

This summer, Kenilworth Town Council (KTC) is aiming to get people - especially young people - out on two wheels.

To this end, KTC's cycling delivery group is counting down to its big Cycling Awareness Day this Saturday (22 July) in Talisman Square.

The event aims to bring together lots of groups and local businesses all in one place – all focussed on getting people cycling.

There will be a particular emphasis on getting students engaged with cycling, with free courses on offer to them.

Running from 10am to 3pm, at the event there will be:

  • Free bike security marking
  • Free bike checks from the Repair Café (10am – 12pm)
  • New kit and discounts from Mike Vaughan Cycles
  • Advice and information from local cycling organisations
  • Free Road Confidence courses for Kenilworth students
  • A chance to win great Raffle prizes in aid of Cyclists Fighting Cancer
