The A46 will be closed in both directions to instal the new bridge at the Stoneleigh Island junction on November 27 and 28.

Closures will be in place between Thikcthorn Island and the Stivichall interchange at Coventry from 0.01am on Saturday 27 until 6am on Monday 29.

The closure will allow six 36m bridge beams to be delivered under police escort.

These beams will be lifted by a crane onto trestles to allow for the new bridge to start being built.

WCC said: "We do appreciate that this closure will cause inconvenience and are grateful for your patience whilst we are carrying out this necessary stage of the works."

The bridge is part of the £38 million redevelopment plans for the Stoneleigh Island junction.
