A former Warwickshire supply teacher has been banned for life after being convicted of sexually assaulting two females, including a child.

Paramjit Clare was said not to have shown any remorse for his conviction, by a misconduct panel from the Teaching Regulation Agency (TRA).

Clare, 57, was said to have shown no remorse for his actions which saw him admit one count of sexually assaulting a female and another offence of sexual assault of a female child under 13 in July 2022 at Warwick Crown Court.

A report said the panel "considered that Mr Clare did not appear to demonstrate any material insight or remorse into his actions. 

"In particular, the panel noted that Mr Clare's submissions failed to account for the impact on his victims even though the damage that he inflicted on others following the crimes for which he was convicted should have been plain to him."

The separate incidents Clare was convicted of took place in early 2020 - one of which occurred at a school he was working at.

The former Just Teachers Limited employee was placed on the sex offenders register for a decade, handed a 15-month suspended sentence and forced to complete 100 hours of unpaid work.

But following the panel in August, the TRA said he should never be allowed to teach again.

"In my view, it is necessary to impose a prohibition order in order to maintain public confidence in the profession," the report continued. 

"A published decision, in light of the circumstances in this case, that is not backed up by insight and remorse, does not in my view satisfy the public interest requirement concerning public confidence in the profession.

"For these reasons, I have concluded that a prohibition order is proportionate and in the public interest in order to achieve the intended aims of a prohibition order.

"I have gone on to consider the matter of a review period. In this case, the panel has recommended that no provision should be made for a review period."

He has 28 days to appeal the decision.
