A convicted murderer who was caught in Warwickshire after fleeing prison will appear in court today (January 9).
Matthew Armstrong, 35, was caught near Henley-in-Arden railway station by Warwickshire Police just before midday on Wednesday (7 January) having fled from HMP Leyhill on New Year's Day.
He is the third person to be charged for absconding from the South Gloucestershire prison.
Armstrong, 35, has also been charged with robbery following an incident the previous day (New Year's Eve).
He will appear at Bristol Magistrates' Court this morning.
Armstrong has been in prison after being found guilty of murder during a robbery in the late 2000's.
He was convicted for killing 54-year-old Paul Smith in Rugby town centre.
