Volunteers at the Local Vaccination Site at the Ramada Hotel have received training on how to save people suffering from cardiac arrest.

The training, which is free, provides volunteers with basic instruction in what to do if they see someone having a cardiac arrest. Volunteers were educated on calling 999, administering CPR and using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

Organised by local charity Kenilworth HeartSafe (KHS), the sessions were led by KHS trustee and former nurse Seringa Dudley and fellow trustee and physiotherapist Nicky Schofield.

Seringa said: "These volunteers have freely given their services for many months in support of the NHS Covid Vaccination Programme. They have demonstrated a wonderful ethos of community service and are enthusiastic in making a difference to others."

KHS is a new charity dedicated to saving lives from out of hospital cardiac arrest. The group has been very successful in providing AEDs to local communities with 22 now available in Kenilworth and district.
