Campaigners for proportional representation in UK democracy will be running a stall in Abbey End this Saturday (July 31).
The stall, which will operate from 10am to 1am, will be run on behalf of the Make Votes Matter campaign.
The Make Votes Matter campaign is not party political, in fact it has cross party support, and will be hosting a nationwide 'Make Noise for PR' event on Saturday.
The stall will be located between Forrest Coffee House and Lil Greens bar, and will give Kenilworth residents the chance to sign a petition for more proportional representation across British democracy.
The petition comes after the Home Secretary indicated that a first past the post voting system could be introduced for future mayoral and Police and Crime Commissioner elections.
According to Make Votes Matter, the current voting system denies millions of people a voice in Parliament, forces millions more to vote tactically, and distorts the will of the British people.
Emma Knaggs, grassroots director at Make Votes Matter, said: "First Past the Post means seven out of 10 of us are muted at the ballot box, effectively with no voice. The Make Votes Matter campaign for equal votes has always been about making our voices heard.
"That's why, on Saturday 31 July, I'm joining people across the UK to unmute myself and Make Noise for PR."
