'Vision workshop' aims to bring local voices to improve Kenilworth town centre

A 'visioning workshop' is set to be held by Kenilworth Town Council as it looks to create a plan to improve the centre of the town.
Councillors had previously backed a new project to engage with local residents and businesses to put together a long-term vision for the town centre.
A council report said the workshop will help "reach consensus on the provisioning of a new site for a market and events space in Kenilworth town centre".
This as well as the "exploration of other town centre aspirations regarding improvements to the civic realm, streetscape, landscape, and highways".
At the most recent town council meeting, a £5,000 budget was approved for the all-day workshop, which will take place later this month.
The invite-only event will be funded by CIL contributions - money raised from housing developers.
"It is our hope that at the end of the workshop we will have a very interesting report to share with this council and residents," council leader Cllr James Kennedy said.
"And also a contribution to the emerging South Warwickshire Local Plan.
"Those of us who are familiar with the current local plan will know it has a lot to say about the centre of Leamington, it has to say about the centre of Warwick, but nothing to say about the centre of Kenilworth.
"That must be corrected for the new local plan."
