Trains have returned to normal at Kenilworth Railway Station following a week of strikes.

All services to the town were cancelled last week as drivers took industrial action over pay and redundancies.

Members of the Rail, Maritime and Transport (RMT) union walked out on Network Rail and 13 train companies on Tuesday 21 June, Thursday 23 and Saturday 25 of June.

The strikes had knock-on effects throughout the week, with normal service only resuming partway through Sunday.

But with trains along the Leamington Spa to Nuneaton line - which serves Kenilworth - now returned to normal, operator West Midlands Railway thanked commuters for their patience.

Alex Warner, chair of the Grand Railway Collaboration, representing West Midlands train operators and Network Rail, said: "I would like to thank passengers for their patience and understanding with the limited service which has been operating throughout this week."

A new coffee shop has also opened in the town's station this month.
