Four miles of congestion remains on the M42 following a collision which left a car on its roof.

All lanes have now reopened on the motorway following the smash which took place between junctions six (Birmingham Airport) and five (Solihull).

Traffic was initially being held as traffic officers and West Midlands Fire Service attended the scene.

But all lanes are now open again.

"Delays of 30 minutes and approx. four miles congestion remain on approach, please allow extra journey time if travelling in the area," a National Highways statement said.
