New build homes in Kenilworth has once again been targeted by thieves over the past few weeks.

A report from Kenilworth Safer Neighbourhood Team revealed new builds on Glasshouse Lane have been broken into on multiple occasions over the past few weeks and had their boilers stolen.

The report - presented to Kenilworth Town Council - said the houses had been built and were ready to be handed over to buyers, so security had been reduced.

It said burglaries have also increased at other houses across the town.

"The trend of burglaries continues unfortunately, where properties are being entered and keys stolen for vehicles which are then being driven away," the report explained.

"One vehicle was recovered in Balsall Common and will be forensically examined to assist in identifying the suspects.

"It is believed that this will be one or two groups of organised criminals that are committing these offences.

"Also there has been a report of 'new build' properties being entered on Glasshouse Lane, they are not occupied but the boiler systems are being stolen.

"Advice has been given about security at the sites, however as houses are ready to be sold the security has been reduced."

Last September local police revealed new builds on Glasshouse Lane were being broken into and having their kitchen appliances stolen.
