A Kenilworth couple have launched their first talent show looking for a local performance star.

The directors of the Kenilworth arts and entertainment company Coventry Arts Collective, Neil and Gaylita Bradley, have spent much of lockdown learning how to create new ways to discover, encourage and deliver creative and performing arts in the local area.

Over the past year the couple have discovered that not only have people been watching box sets and learning how to bake, but they have also been taking advantage of the array creative courses available online.

Many have also bought musical instruments online. For example Neil bought Gaylita a cello. "She loves it" he said, "can't say the same about the long suffering neighbours though!"

With this in mind, the Bradley's have launched their first lockdown talent competition 'Coundon's Hot Talent 2021'.

Gaylita explains: "The Coundon and Radford Talent Showcase is a local community talent show to discover and celebrate the singing, dancing, and performing talent in the neighbourhood.

"Magicians jugglers, comedy routines, amateur variety acts of all kinds are welcome to apply. If you can do it on a stage, you can do it at Coundon's Hot Talent."

Coundon's Hot Talent showcase stage show will be recorded and live streamed online on 21 March 2021

This showcase stage event is exclusive for the people who live, work or study in Coundon and Radford, Coventry. So if you have talented friends and family living over there, do tell them about the project.

Local artist and performer Christopher Sidwell said of the team at Coventry Arts Collective "They have a very positive 'can do' attitude and an infectious enthusiasm for the arts. They make you feel good about yourself."

For those worried that this project isn't for the, fear not as the Bradleys have plans to roll out in Kenilworth and Warwickshire. So here's your curtain call Kenilworth, this is only the "tip of the iceberg!"

Neil said "We have so many exciting performance projects up our sleeve. We will be rolling these out in Coventry and Warwickshire for City of Culture and beyond, after the caravan has left town.

"This is the perfect opportunity to jump on the stage we have created for you. To show your local community how creative you've been during lockdown and to showcase what you've learnt during these lockdowns".

They will be launching many more projects that you can take part in over the summer. Keep your eye on their website to see how you too can get involved.
