The MP's expenses scandal and other skulduggery in high places

Speaker: Mike Warburton

Date: February 9

Time: 10.30am

For many years Mike was a tax partner with Grant Thornton, a large national firm of accountants, and was based in Cheltenham for 20 of those years.

He was the firm's spokesman on tax matters and had extensive dealings with the national media. That included the BBC, where for about 25 years he was a member of the Radio 4 Money Box panel and had a weekly business slot on BBC Radio Gloucestershire.

During that period he helped the national press with investigative reporting into tax issues and various other political shenanigans. In particular he worked closely with the Daily Telegraph team in their exposure of the MP's expenses scandal in 2009 which forms the basis of his talk.

From Typewriters to Computers

Speaker: Alison Harris
