Station Road has been identified as a key issue for improving accessibility for disabled people in Kenilworth.

The town council is well underway on a new project to improve accessibility across the town centre, and has already completed a thorough assessment of where there are issues around Kenilworth.

Members recently met with Warwick District Council officers and members of Accessible Stratford to find out "what is good and what is not so good about Kenilworth in terms of accessibility for disabled people".

And high on the list of priorities is improving pedestrian access along Station Road, the end of which has now been closed since 2020.

"An important issue that did come up was the issue with Station Road for pedestrians and those in wheelchairs or with other mobility issues," Cllr Zoe Leventhal said at the most recent Kenilworth Town Council meeting.

"We would like to write as a town council to the county council officers asking for them to look into that."

A report presented to the council outlined the "really good progress" on the project, with next steps to include launching a webpage with a map which will set out all the features for accessibility across Kenilworth residents and visitors.
