Waverley tackling social isolation in Kenilworth this Christmas
Waverley has had an "exciting" festive period with so much going on.
Events in the run up to Christmas included the annual tombola which raised £400, Sadie and her bake sale raising another £400 and "wonderful" visits from the Stoneleigh Choir and the bell ringers.
The highlight of last week was Christmas lunch with a visit from Mayor of Kenilworth Cllr Alan Chalmers who served the amazing festive diner cooked by Sue.
The 23 clients and volunteers all agreed that it was a wonderful day with festive fun abound, crackers and plenty of good cheer.
Waverley is "delighted" to be the mayor's chosen charity and is "grateful for his continued support".
Will O'Mera, trustee at Waverley who attended the Christmas lunch, said: "It has been an amazing day, filled with fun, friendship and a wonderful lunch.
"I would like to thank the Mayor for rolling up his sleeves and serving the lunch accompanied by a kind word for each of our clients."
The centre on Waverley Road is now open again as of today (January 2).
The team said: "We know that the festive period can, at times, be isolating for our older relatives and friends so should you know anyone who would like to relax, socialise with others and even take part in a range of stimulating activities then please contact Anne on 01926 852365 to arrange a taster session or simply find out more about the services when Waverley reopens on 2 January 2025.
"Alternatively, email [email protected] and one of the team will be in contact on their return in the new year."
