Book lovers and budding creatives are invited to a special evening at Kenilworth Books next week, as bestselling author Wren James visits the town to celebrate the launch of their latest novel.

The independent bookshop will host a Book Launch & Craft Workshop on Thursday, July 9, from 5.30pm, giving readers the opportunity to meet Wren, get creative and be among the first to discover the new book, The Victors.

Rather than a traditional author talk, the event will feature a fun bookmark-making workshop inspired by the new release, making it an interactive experience for all.

Tickets cost £15, with the price including a copy of The Victors, allowing attendees to take home both a signed book and their handmade creation.

Bookseller Charlotte Vaughan said: "We're delighted to be welcoming Wren James to Kenilworth.

"It's always exciting to celebrate the launch of a new book, and this event is a little bit different because it combines storytelling with creativity.

"Wren is such an engaging author and we're thrilled to have them joining us for the launch of The Victors.

"We know readers are going to love hearing about the inspiration behind the book, and the craft workshop makes it a fun, hands-on event for everyone."

Award-winning Wren is the author of 12 science fiction and fantasy novels and was story consultant on Netflix's Heartstopper, which was awarded an Emmy for Outstanding Writing.

Also a RLF Royal Fellow, Wren is the founder of the Climate Fiction Writers League and member of the Society of Authors' sustainability steering committee.

They have won the Sustainable Story Award and been shortlisted for the YA Book Prize, Carnegie Medal and STEAM Book Award.

Their books have sold over 200,000 copies in ten languages.

Places for the workshop are expected to be limited, and the team at Kenilworth Books is encouraging families to book in advance to avoid disappointment.

Tickets can be purchased through Kenilworth Books' website or by visiting the bookshop in Talisman Square.
