Students have enjoyed "very strong outcomes" in both schools within the Kenilworth Multi Academy Trust today (August 21), with results that were similar to, or better than, the exam results in pre-pandemic years.

At Westwood Academy the 9-4 grades for English and Maths are 14 per cent higher at 57.4 per cent than in 2019 when the 9-4 grades for English and Maths were 43.7 per cent.

The average grade was 4. Some individual students achieved very impressive exam results.

These include Eshanth who achieved Grade 9 in seven subjects, one grade 8 and one grade 7, Ben who was awarded Grade 9 in six subjects, with two grade 8s and one grade 7, and Max who received Grade 9 in six subjects and three grade 7s.

Headteacher Sarah Hatch commented: "Congratulations to all our Year 11 students on your achievements.

"Your hard work, dedication, and resilience in preparing for, and sitting, your GCSE exams have truly paid off.

"The commitment you have shown throughout this journey is something to be proud of. We would like to wish you every success in your next steps, whether that is in our Sixth Form, College or an apprenticeship."

At Kenilworth School the results were "excellent overall".

The average pass grade was 5.7, with an impressive 86 per cent pass rate for English and Maths at grade 4 and above.

Darren Nicholas, the Head of Kenilworth School said: "We are all immensely proud of the outstanding GCSE and BTEC results achieved by our students this year.

"These exceptional outcomes are a testament to the hard work, determination and resilience of our young people, the dedication of our staff and the unwavering support of families and the wider Kenilworth community.

"A huge congratulations to the students."

Hayden Abbott, CEO of the Kenilworth Multi Academy Trust said: "We are delighted with the exam successes of our students in both schools.

"We congratulate them on these impressive achievements and thank all the teachers and other staff members who worked tirelessly with our students and their families to support them along the way.

"These achievements demonstrate a foundation of good and excellent teaching that has been sustained over many years, despite the challenges of the pandemic when so many young people were affected, not only educationally but also in their well-being at the start of their secondary education.

"Our schools aim to put the needs of each child first as they guide every individual to achieve success in their own way, allowing them to participate in a varied enrichment programme to develop their confidence and resilience. Well done to everyone."
