Here are our top picks for the coming days.

1. Listening Rooms

A brand-new live music event, The Listening Room, launches on Sunday 20 July at The Talisman Theatre, Kenilworth, promising an "intimate" night of original acoustic songs and the powerful stories behind them.

Set in the cosy atmosphere of the new foyer and bar at the theatre, this inaugural evening is "dedicated to heartfelt connection and the soul of music itself".

Inspired by the celebrated "Songwriters in the Round" format made famous in Nashville, The Listening Room invites audiences to experience music in its rawest form.

Four acclaimed Midlands-based singer-songwriters - Daniel Barrie, Danny Ansell, Chrissie Dux, and Jim Thomason - will take to the stage to share their original compositions along with the tales, emotions, and humour that inspired them.

More details here.

2. Family History Day

Head to Kenilworth Castle this weekend for the return of Family History Day.

English Heritage said: "Get hands on with history at Kenilworth Castle’s Family History Weekend and learn about Elizabeth I’s visit in 1575.

"Have a go at junior jousting, sword skills training, and explore the castle on a family friendly story walk.

"All events are drop-in and will be taking place throughout the day."

3. 70's Rollback

It will be all things 70's at a Kenilworth jewellers this Friday and Saturday as it celebrates its 45th anniversary.

Edmonds Jewellers on Warwick Road is set to host a weekend-long event to mark the major milestone, with special discounts and rollback prices announced.

The business was due to celebrate the anniversary last year, but delayed the occasion as it embarked on the huge project of converting the former HSBC bank into its fantastic new store, and moved across from Cheylesmore, which was a "huge step" for Edmonds which had been on the same site since 1979.
