Here are our top picks for the coming days.

1. Half Marathon

Hundreds of runners will take to the streets of Kenilworth on Sunday morning (September 8) for the return of the Kenilworth Half Marathon.

Locals are encouraged to line the streets to cheer on the runners as they make their way to Beausale and back.

Following last year's success, the 2024 event will also feature a 5km run for competitors to take part in.

More details here.

2. Cinema

The Talisman Theatre's independent cinema offering is pulling in even bigger audiences in 2024, and has yet another screening this weekend.

With regular events across the year, Talisman Cinema promises to be an "affordable" and "properly social" occasion.

This Saturday (September 7) sees 'Happening' come to the Barrow Road venue.

Based on a true story and set in 1963 France, the film by Audrey Diwan tells the story of Talented student Anne who discovers she is pregnant.

In a time when abortion was illegal, she looks for someone who is willing to help her as her final exams approach and her social life begins to fade.

As with all screenings at the Talisman, the film will be shown with an intermission with the bar and ice creams available.

3. Jewellery Making

Make your own unique ring or pendant necklace this Saturday at The Basement Snug!

Organiser Myleti Jewellery said: "In this workshop you will learn how to carve your own ring or pendant in jewellers wax during a relaxed and fun session.

"Your wax jewellery will then be cast in to solid sterling silver after the workshop and posted back to you.

"This is a beginners level class, so you don't need any previous experience. Everyone will be able to create a piece of jewellery unique to you."

4. Fringe

Thursday (September 5) marks the return of Talisman Fringe to the Holiday Inn!

This month's theme is Brush Up Your Shakespeare – an evening of Shakespeare with a Twist!

Organisers said: "Our talented cast will present some of Shakespeare’s most famous pieces – but with a twist! There will be extracts from ‘The Merchant of Venice,’ ‘Twelfth Night,’ ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream,’ and ‘Romeo and Juliet,’ as well as ‘Trigger’ by Paul Smith and Tom Stoppard’s ‘15-minute Hamlet’ (and even a couple of Sonnets too)."
