A Kenilworth pub is set to "wrap up the summer in style" this weekend with the return of its popular family-friendly festival.

Hundreds of locals are expected to head to The Tiltyard on Saturday (30 August) for the return of 'Tiltfest'.

Running from 4.30pm to 10.30pm, the free event promises an evening of live music, fun and fantastic food.

Pub owner Amanda Shipley told Nub News: "We've got three bands on the day, and the headliners are RISE, who are well-known in Kenilworth.

"There will be face painting and lots for families to enjoy.

"And our new chef will be doing lots of food outside, giving people the chance to sample what our kitchen has to offer!"

Tiltfest is run twice a year and proved a big hit in July with around 500 people heading to Leyes Lane to soak up the summer sun.

As well as local legends RISE, Van Brookes and Replay will also be playing at The Tiltyard, bringing the feel-good factor to the festival.

Explaining the idea behind Tiltfest, Amanda continued: "Nobody had done this before at the Tiltyard.

"When we took over, we saw the garden and I said 'we can do something great here'.

"We went to KENFEST and thought we could bring something like that to the pub.

"We wanted to make it free for everybody and since the first event, it has just stuck and more and more people have come.

"My vision was that everybody brings their camp chairs and they all sit out in the sun, have some drinks and enjoy the music."

Since taking over The Tiltyard over two years ago, Amanda and husband Dave have hosted a wide range of events.

As well as charity quizzes and live music, the pub runs weekly bingo and pub quiz nights which are both very popular.

"It is about giving back to the community," Dave explained.

"People come in here day in, day out and they spend their money.

"And for us, we have to give back.

"And I think bringing people together in that way for Tiltfest, does exactly that.

"It's a safe place to come, you can bring your dogs, you can bring your kids.

"It means that we're giving back to the community."
