Kenilworth Tennis, Squash and Croquet Club (KTSCC) has submitted a planning application for "significant improvements" to its facilities, including an enlarged outdoor seating deck and provision for two additional padel courts.

The club says the developments are part of its commitment to "providing high-quality facilities" for members and the wider community, while "keeping pace with growing demand for racquet sports".

The proposed extension to the outdoor seating deck would create more capacity for members and visitors, "significantly improved" accessibility, and offer better views of the tennis and padel courts.

The club said the enlarged area would also serve as a welcoming social hub, particularly during tournaments and community events.

Padel, one of the UK's fastest-growing sports, is also at the heart of the application, for two further courts.

Club leaders said this reflects the rising popularity of the sport locally and will help relieve pressure on existing facilities.

A spokesperson for KTSCC said: "This is about strengthening the club as a whole – across tennis, squash, racquetball, croquet and padel – while making sure our facilities serve members, the wider community and future generations."

The club is also running a series of consultation sessions with its members to explain the proposals in detail before deciding whether to move forward.

The club added: "Our aim is to balance growth with sustainability and inclusivity, while continuing to provide Kenilworth with the very best environment for sport and recreation."
