Putting patients first: Kenilworth physio clinic reveals the secret to success

Bespoke care for every client and an emphasis on excellent customer service are the secret to success for a Kenilworth physio centre which has been helping the local community for over a decade.
HALO Physiotherapy was first opened in March 2013 by Michelle Henry and Rachael Adams with a focus on personalised treatment and making sure clients receive the best support possible.
Now owned by Dr Andrew Threadgold and Philip Jordan, the Camden House-based clinic has expanded its services, but continues to put that emphasis on individual care at the forefront of everything it does.
"The business was launched with the desire to give a more personal approach to physiotherapy," practice manager Kate O'Donnell told Nub News.
"Instead of just giving people some generic exercises and leaving it to them, we want to give that personal experience and really listen to and understand what the patient's symptoms and needs are.
"From the moment the patient enters the clinic, they are made to feel at home and prioritised.
"Every new client is given a full assessment to find out their needs and their experiences. From there we can give them a comprehensive treatment plan with our team of experienced and highly qualified experts."

As well as physiotherapy, HALO offers sports massage, sports medicine Pilates - in groups and for individuals - and other services including 1:1 reformer Pilates, podiatry, aromatherapy, reflexology and mindfulness.
The practice has now introduced a new 'first aid at work' programme for local businesses. A wide range of courses of varying lengths are available, are flexible around the needs of the business, and all are led by certified First Aid at Work Instructor Paul Godfrey who has over 33 years of extensive experience of working in private practice.
HALO also provides a range of support for pelvic health — including antenatal care, postnatal recovery, and specialist pelvic health services.
"Pregnancy puts a huge demand on the body, especially on the muscles and tissues of the pelvis," Kate explained.
"In the antenatal phase, we focus on preparing the body for birth, supporting the changing posture, and helping prevent / manage any complications such as urinary incontinence and keep you comfortable and active."

But HALO's care does not stop there. Its postnatal services are an integral part of recovery and long-term well-being.
Post-birth, the clinic offers thorough postnatal assessments and tailored rehabilitation through their HALO Healthy Mama service - addressing everything from abdominal muscle separation and scar recovery to pelvic floor function and return to exercise.
New mums are supported every step of the way with advice, hands-on treatment, and personalised plans.
One area that has seen particular growth is pessary fitting – a "game changing" service now offered by HALO's advanced pelvic health specialists which involves silicone devices fitted vaginally to support pelvic organs.
The pessary service complements the clinic's wider approach to women's pelvic health, helping women return to their daily lives, exercise, and confidence without feeling limited by their symptoms.
And that desire to give as much support to mothers and women across the lifespan is part of the clinic's broader ambition to change the perception of what it means to go to a physio.

Kate continued: "As a clinic, we try and instil that prevention is better than cure.
"If you go to the dentist a couple of times a year to maintain dental health, why not do the same for your physical health — especially after pregnancy or with pelvic changes that affect quality of life?
"People typically think about going to a physio clinic when they've got an injury or when they're in pain.
"But we want to introduce the idea that physiotherapy is also about proactive care, support, and building strength and resilience."
That commitment to a holistic approach to physiotherapy has also seen HALO recently expand to offer a more comprehensive service for the rehabilitation of sports injuries, as the clinic develops its sports medicine provision.

"Sports medicine is a specialised field of healthcare that focuses on the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries related to physical activity and sport," Paul explained.
"Our team of experts collaborates with other sports medicine professionals to deliver tailored, cutting-edge care.
"We have specific expertise in treating injuries that arise in contact sports (e.g. football or rugby), running, golf and racket sports, although this is not the full extent of what we can treat.
"Whether you're recovering from an injury or striving to improve your physical capabilities, we are dedicated to keeping you active and performing at your best.
As well as offering a range of services, the clinic also treats a range of clients from different ages and backgrounds.

And when asked what the success of HALO is down to, Kate said it was all about the team and the way they support their patients right through their journey at the clinic.
"When people come to HALO Physiotherapy for the first time, they often feel they are in a bit of a dark, painful place," she explained.
"We always put the patient and their needs first - they are listened to, reassured and encouraged through every step of the process.
"With the physiotherapists, it really is about listening to exactly what the patient has done, what they want to achieve, how they're going to get there.
"So, I think it is very much about the patient's journey; we at HALO all literally try to make a painful situation as painless as possible."
