Parental parking problems around Kenilworth School to persist as further delays confirmed

Parking problems around the new Kenilworth School will not be addressed until after the Warwickshire County Council elections - at the earliest.
Residents in the residential streets around Glasshouse Lane have continued to complain about "inconsiderate" parking from parents at pick up and drop off times since the new site opened.
Kenilworth Town Council has continued to press its county colleagues - who are in charge of the local roads - over the issue but have been told nothing will happen until after residents go to the polls on May 1.
Updating councillors last week, Cllr James Kennedy said: "The other issue which is particularly concerning residents around the school is the unacceptable parking practices of some parents and guardians while waiting to collect their students from the school, and the way that often goes onto residents' driveways and often their lawns and so on.
"We have been pressing the county council for many months, over a year, to come up with a scheme which will prevent inconsiderate parking.
"So far they have not done so, and now I understand that is further delayed by the county council elections as they cannot undertake a consultation during the election period.
"As soon as that is over, we will be pressing the councillors who are elected in Kenilworth, to really get some action on that.
"It spreads quite a long way away from the school."
The county council told Nub News earlier this year it is "in the process of finalising the parking restriction details" and said these are hoped to be advertised "shortly".
The town council is also pressing forward in its attempts to improve the safety around Glasshouse Lane.
