Kenilworth's war memorial was hit by a car today (April 20).

The incident on Abbey Hill has caused significant damage to the fence surrounding the memorial.

But the memorial itself appears to have escaped without damage.

Sharing the news on social media, Kenilworth Liberal Democrats said: "Reported to Warwick District Council.

"Looks like someone missed the bend.

"Thanks to the people who tidied up. Hope no one hurt."
