South Warwickshire taxi driver suspended after failing to report driving convictions

A local taxi driver has been suspended for two weeks after failing to report his driving convictions to the council when he renewed his licence.
The unnamed man, who has been licensed for 11 years, had 12 points on his driving licence although had not been disqualified by the court.
While the convictions occurred when he was off duty, the man failed to tell Stratford-on-Avon District Council about the convictions on two different applications.
Taxi drivers are required to tell the local authority of any convictions within seven days.
The driver apologised and said he did not realise he had to notify the district council about the penalty points.
However, he was suspended and also issued with a formal written warning following the licencing meeting earlier this month.
He can appeal the decision to the magistrate's court.
