See inside Kenilworth's new charity shop
By James Smith 12th Jun 2026
Kenilworth's newest charity shop was officially opened by the mayor this morning (June 12).
Cllr Alison Insley cut the ribbon at the Air Ambulance Service's new store on Warwick Road.
Lots of locals arrived for the 10am opening to see inside the shop, which has opened at the former Lloyds bank.
"Welcome to the opening of the Air Ambulance charity shop, it is my pleasure to welcome them to the town," Cllr Insley said at the opening.
"Most of us will be familiar with the yellow and green helicopters flying above us, and landing in our parks and fields.

"Buying from a charity is not just good for the charity, but it is good for the environment and it is cheaper too.
"I think Air Ambulance will fit in perfectly within our retail space, and help to keep our town centre fresh, exciting and thriving.
"So if you donate, shop, or volunteer - or do all three - it all helps. Every action helps to save lives."

Air Ambulance has also opened with a 'book nook' and there is a dedicated donation station within the unit.
The charity is also hiring for volunteers.
Lloyds shut its local branch in April 2025 as part of a nationwide axing of 45 branches.
Since then the signs on the unit at The Square have been removed and the ATM boarded up.
