A retirement village being built on the site of a former garden centre could have a new facility added to the complex.
Opus Knowle Developments wants to introduce a 'wellness garden' to the community to be constructed on the former site of Wyndley Garden Centre on Warwick Road, Knowle.
The retirement home will be made up of 39 care suites and 46 care apartments.
The project was initially rejected in April 2021 due to the "inappropriate" use of green belt land and concerns over the scale of the facility.
But an appeal was successful in March 2022 and the scheme was given the green light to go ahead.
Wyndley Garden Centre has since been demolished as building work on the new care facility begins.
More than 700 people had signed a petition asking to save the garden centre and popular café, but the application was approved providing the retirement village 'harmonises' with its surroundings, among other conditions.
On-site facilities at the new retirement village will include a gym, hairdresser, private dining room, café, arts and crafts studio and a library.
The latest addition to the plans involves a wellness garden, linked to the treatment room and beauty salon.
Screening would be put up around the wellness garden to maintain privacy.
The garden would lead to the loss of four parking spaces.
In a letter to Solihull Council, real estate firm Avison Young said: "Opus would like to create a wellness garden which would link to the treatment room and beauty salon within the Village Care Centre building.
"This is the main building on the site which accommodates the care suites and shared facilities.
"To provide privacy to the users of the space, screening is proposed around it to create a walled garden."
Plans for the wellness garden were lodged on August 30.
