A popular Kenilworth food vendor is set to expand its menu and range of specials having recently unveiled a new and improved trailer.
Jimmy's Food launched the new trailer in the middle of October at its Princes Drive site, some four years after setting up there for the first time.
Explaining the reason by the investment, business founder Jimmy Queenan told Nub News: "We wanted to expand really.
"I have been there for four years in the same spot with the same trailer, a smaller one, which had less equipment in.
"This is bigger, with more equipment which means we can add more on the menu and expand.
"I used to do specials when we first started but it got difficult as we got busier, but we will be bringing them back now."
The new specials will change regularly and will include a whole range of street food items from loaded fries to speciality burgers and fried chicken.
Pork and stuffing batches will also return, as well as home-cooked chilis and curries, and even roast potatoes on occasion.
The new, freshly made sausage rolls are also already selling out on a daily basis.
A new refrigerated unit has also been installed with the new trailer, allowing Jimmy's to stock freshly baked cakes, samosas and more.
"Customers who have been with me for the whole time are really pleased," Jimmy explained.
"They are really glad to see us expanding and bringing the specials back.
"Everyone is in a really good mood for us and it is nice to see.
"We are getting some great reviews and the JustEast reviews for our deliveries are all positive."
Jimmy's Food was first launched in October 2020, at Princes Drive, after Jimmy swapped his job as a chef at the University of Warwick to realise his dream of launching his own business.
And for someone who has worked in catering and kitchens for 20 years, he said it was the best decision he has ever made.
"I have always fancied doing something for myself and being my own boss," Jimmy explained.
"I thought I could be more than just a burger van - with my experience as a chef. I am so glad I did, I absolutely love it.
"I love going to work every day, meeting new people - you meet all different sorts of people and it's great.
"I feel like it has brought me out of my shell a bit, it is the best thing I have ever done."
