Huge piece of land along Kenilworth Greenway to be auctioned this month
A huge piece of land along the Kenilworth Greenway will be auctioned later this month.
The 62.19 acres of farmland behind Coventry Road is on the market with Henley-in-Arden based property agent Earles and will go under the hammer on November 19.
The land borders the Kenilworth Greenway on one side and the HS2 works around Coventry Road on the other side.
Earles has set a guide price of £600,000.
"The land, which comprises a ring-fenced block of mixed arable and pastureland, lies in nine main enclosures, bounded by well-kept hawthorn hedges, with some hedgerow trees, and has been used for both livestock grazing and arable production for many years," the advert says.
"The land has the benefit of a large pond, lying adjacent to the northern boundary, which is surrounded by mature trees and often has wildfowl flying and in and out of it.
"The whole gives the purchaser an opportunity to obtain a good block of land lying to the outside of the mid-Warwickshire town of Kenilworth, some three miles from Coventry city centre.
"The land is accessed, off the A429 Coventry Road through Laneham Place, which gives access to the southernmost parcels of land."
Local Green Party members told Nub News the landowner has recently cut back the hedgerows around the edge of the land for the first time in years.
Volunteers then had to remove all the hawthorns and brambles which had been left covering the section of greenway.
