Plot of Burton Green land with 'opportunity for a self-build' on the market for £600k
A one acre piece of land in Burton Green, that already has planning permission for a detached house, has been put for sale for £600,000.
On the market with estate agent Boothroyd and Co, the Red Lane plot lies just a quarter of a mile from the route of HS2.
The site is described as being in an "enviable position" with a 34 metre road frontage and with the Kenilworth Greenway at its foot.
The advert describes it as: "A residential building plot situated on Red Lane, Burton Green.
"The site is approximately one acre and permission is for a single dwelling and garaging.
"An ideal opportunity for a self-build in a quite stunning setting on the fringe of Kenilworth.
"The site is rectangular and mainly level."
Planning permission for a detached house and garage was initially refused by Warwick District Council with planners saying it would be inappropriate development in the green belt.
However the decision was overturned on appeal in October 2021.
The planning inspector said building a house on the site would not spoil the character of the area.
"The loss as an isolated area of scrub, which is distinct from developed plots or open agricultural fields about the settlement, would not harm the integrity of the village," the report said.
The plot is near to the new Burton Green village hall which is currently being funded by HS2.
