Plans to build a 'nature trail' in Balsall Common have been revealed by Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council.

The scheme could see a new, wider footpath built, ponds created and trees planted at the land at Frog Lane.

The council said the path would connect to the existing footpaths at Oakes Farm and would have fences separating the new route from surrounding farmland.

A public consultation has been launched asking for residents' feedback on the plans.

Cllr. Bob Sleigh OBE, Cabinet Member for Resources said: "We are really excited about our plans for Frog Lane, Balsall Common, which will create a better environment for residents and visitors to enjoy and for local wildlife to flourish.

"At Solihull Council, we put the interests of local people at the heart of all the decisions we make, so we want to hear your thoughts on these proposals.

"I encourage as many people as possible to take part in the public consultation, which is now live, to let us know your views on our planned improvements and any suggestions you might have to help improve them further."

The public consultation closes on Sunday 6 November 2022, with work on site set to commence in Spring 2023.
