Below are the key planning applications in Kenilworth recently received or decided on by Warwick District Council.

Major application for 620 houses on Glasshouse Lane

A detailed planning application for 620 houses and a primary school has been submitted to WDC.

This forms part of the council's £60 million investment in the land behind the new Kenilworth school.

The development is allocated in the local plan for housing.

Burton Green house to be replaced by swimming pool?

Plans to demolish an existing house and to replace it with a six-car garage. Owners will move into the outbuilding which will also be extended to include a swimming pool.

Councillors approved the plans last week, but they still need to be approved by the council's development services manager.

Preferred contractor announced for leisure centre rebuilds

WDC has announced its preferred contractor for the redevelopment of Abbey Fields Swimming Pools and Castle Farm Recreation Centre.

Planning approval for the demolition and rebuilding at the two sites was approved in September.

Works are expected to begin in the next six months.

Solar panels to stay next to Grade II listed building in Stoneleigh

Panels near the Tanatra Lodge, Coventry Road, are likely to stay despite planning officers' recommendations.

Councillors at last Thursday's meeting however felt that the environmental benefits outweighed the aesthetic impact.

Development services manager Gary Fisher will have the final say on the application.
