A person had to be cut out of their car following a crash in Stoneleigh this morning (June 14).

Fire crews from Kenilworth and Leamington were called to the scene of a head on collision on the Stoneleigh Road at around 7.20am.

Firefighters had to use hydraulic cutting equipment to safely remove one casualty by removing the roof of the vehicle.

Ambulance, police and Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance were also called to the scene.

Eye witnesses advised locals to stay away saying the road was closed in both directions.

Officers from the Warwickshire Police Roads Policing Unit are appealing for anyone with information to come forward following the incident.

"At 7.15am it was reported that two cars had collided on the road between the entrance to the showgrounds at the National Agricultural Centre (NAC) and Stoneleigh," a police statement said.

"A woman has been taken to hospital with injuries.
