Official opening of Spring Playgroup at the new scout and guide centre

By Felicity Hawke 21st Jan 2025

Kenilworth's Spring Playgroup has had an official opening for its new location after a move across town.

The long-running group has moved from the Sports and Social Club to the newly constructed Scout and Guide Centre at Castle Farm.

The move was celebrated with an official opening in December, where Mayor of Kenilworth Cllr Alan Chalmers ceremoniously cut a ribbon to inaugurate the new facility.

Manager Sarah Walters, along with founding trustee Jackie Cross, marked the occasion by cutting a celebratory cake.

"The modern centre provides a stimulating and accessible environment for children aged two, open from 9am to 3pm during term time," the team said

Kenilworth Town Council had provided a grant to Spring Playgroup to help it move across town.

The group does not charge a set fee for children to attend, and asks parents to give what they can afford.

Spring Playgroup needed to purchase a number of items to assist with it new setup.
