HS2 has issued its autumn update for all the upcoming works around Kenilworth.

Over the past few months HS2 has submitted numerous planning applications for local works, and announced several upcoming road closures.

And now the high speed rail developer has released its autumn 2024 'construction look ahead' for Warwickshire.

Upcoming work includes:

  • Build the Burton Green Tunnel and permanent Cromwell Lane realignment
  • Delivering piling works for the Burton Green Tunnel and retaining structure
  • Installation of the Burton Green tunnel roof slab: This will involve shuttering, steel fixing and pouring of concrete to form the roof slab
  • Installation of the new Cromwell Lane Embankment
  • Constructing Broadwell Woods Embankment and Cutting
  • Installation of W168 Underpass Structure and New W168 Footpath.
  • Finishing the temporary bridge over Canley Brook
  • Build Canley Brook Viaduct
  • Preparing to push or ‘jack’ the reinforced concrete tunnel or ‘box’ under the A46 Kenilworth Bypass in 2025.

HS2 also said there will be the "removal of the minimum number of trees and vegetation needed to safely build the railway and prepare sites for construction".
