A new Kenilworth kebab shop has applied for a late-night licence.

Starlight Kebab & Pizza Rio opened on Warwick Road this January in the former Turkish Kitchen unit.

The existing licence allows the eatery to stay open until 11pm but a new application to Warwick District Council has asked for permission for 'late night refreshment' until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.

The application says the venue would open until 11pm Sunday to Thursday.

"We will have staff training for issues like anti-social behaviour and already have CCTV cameras around," the application continued.

"We do keep an incident log and will work with the police if needed."

It added: "The shop is well lit inside to keep anti-social behaviour away.

"We do have signs asking customers to leave quietly and respect our neighbours.

"All the delivery drivers will keep their engines off to prevent noise."

Locals have until February 16 to have their say on the plans.
