A new sandwich shop officially opened its doors in Kenilworth today (October 6).

Sabins Sandwich Shop opened at the former Bayzos estate agent unit on Warwick Road this morning.

Mayor of Kenilworth, Cllr Alison Insley, officially cut the ribbon outside the independent business.

She said: "It is my pleasure to welcome Sabins to Kenilworth."

"Well done for all your hard work, congratulations, wishing you good luck, and welcome to our Kenilworth high street," she added."

The business first announced it was opening a third shop in Kenilworth in June, and has been working since on remodelling the vacant unit.

Sabins already has shops in Leamington Spa and Warwick and promised the Kenilworth site would not just be a carbon copy of the other two.

The family-run business dates back to 1860 when 'Sabin & Son' opened on Farley Street in Leamington.

Ahead of opening, the team said in a post on social media: "It's taken longer than we hoped, and this year has thrown some pretty crazy things at us.

"Thank you for your patience, your messages and every "when are you opening?"

"We've felt the love, and we're nearly ready to give it back in sandwiches."
