A new flooring business has been launched in Kenilworth, taking over the site previously home to the Kenilworth Carpets showroom.

Bridgeworks flooring, offering a carpet and hard floor supply and fit service to Kenilworth residents and surrounding areas, has set up shop at the Bridge Works.

The Farmer Ward Road site has been home to many businesses over the last three decades, with two in particular having been in residence for over 30 years.

One of the long standing business at the address, Kenilworth Upholstery Ltd (bays one and two), has endured two major floods and the global pandemic since its beginnings in 1966 but continues to prevail.

It now boasts one of the largest furniture refurbishment portfolios and widest upholstery and curtain fabric selections in Warwickshire.

More recently the business has expanded its services to include sister company Bridgeworks Flooring, offering a "comprehensive supply and fitting service of high end luxury carpets and hard flooring" to Kenilworth and its surrounding areas.

Gary Warren, director of Kenilworth Upholstery Ltd. said: "When the previous carpet company at the Bridge Works closed the customer interest remained with many enquiries on the phone and visits on foot to the closed premises.

"It seemed like a logical step to meet the needs of local residents."

Bridgeworks Flooring will also offer its customers a free-to-use online quotation tool on its new webpage.

Meanwhile Carl Wilcock of neighbouring Wilco Autos (bay six) recalls the building previously being occupied by Jaguar.

His father (Rod Wilcock) worked for the world leading car firm before setting up his own successful vehicle repair business in the very same building.

Wilco Autos has been carrying out car repairs and servicing since 1978.

A family run business for over 40 years, it has thousands of happy customers who return for repairs and servicing, with pride in their work being the cornerstone of their success over the years.

Carl Wilcock has a rich history in car repair and servicing with major manufacturers; Ford, Renault and Vauxhall, as well as working as a roadside patrol with the RAC. Adam Shone-Bennett became part of the team last year on a three year apprenticeship.

Meanwhile one of the more recent business ventures to emerge on the Farmer Ward Road site is CrossFit Timekeeper.

A leading functional fitness training provider with a strong community of members.

The gym is partnered with Turbo MMA, a premier Mixed Martial Arts training facility. This collaboration brings together the best of CrossFit's high-intensity training with Turbo MMA's elite combat sports expertise, creating a unique and unparalleled training experience for athletes of all levels.

Both aspects of the gym have adults, youth and children's classes as well as providing bespoke, one-to-one training for specific sports needs and personal requirements.
