New bereavement café for young adults coming to Kenilworth coffee shop

A new 'bereavement café' aimed at young adults is set to launch at a Kenilworth coffee shop.
Compassionate Kenilworth has been running a successful bereavement café at the Kenilworth Centre on the last Monday of the month for the past two-and-a-half years.
Recently the group has seen an increase in numbers of younger adults attending and while they have been welcomed and have enjoyed attending the group, organisers have found there is a gap in support for younger adults who have been bereaved.
Compassionate Kenilworth has now received funding from Kenilworth Rotary Club as a result of their Advent Calendar sales and have put this to use in funding a new Young Adults Bereavement Café which is being held at Morning Sunshine, Warwick Road, on a monthly basis.
Open to adults aged 18 and over the group offers a "supportive bereavement café", with activities, a chance to connect and share with others and a grief specialist on hand to support with any emotional and practical issues.

Pauline Hayward, Chair of Compassionate Kenilworth said: "At Compassionate Kenilworth, we work hard to identify gaps in provision and create supportive spaces for the community to connect.
"Bereavement at any age is hard and being able to provide a safe space for people to share their experiences can help with the grieving process, there is so little face to face support available so we wanted to provide this.
"Thanks to Kenilworth Rotary Club for donating the funds that allow us to run this cafe."
