More overnight closures announced for A46 Stoneleigh Junction

By James Smith 3rd Dec 2021

More overnight closures have been announced for the A46 at Stoneleigh as work continues on the new junction.

There will be another closure between 8pm on Saturday, December 11 and 10am on Sunday, December 12 for all lanes in both directions.

The closure will allow more beams to be delivered for the new bridge.

The road will be closed between the Thickthorn Island and Stivichall interchange.

The junction has already had a weekend of closures to allow for bridge materials to be delivered.

A Warwickshire County Council statement said: "There will be a final set of beams to take delivery of this year and, we can now confirm we will undertake this work on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 December 2021.

"Whilst we will again require a closure of the A46 between Thickthorn island at Kenilworth and Stivichall interchange at Coventry, as we are taking receipt of fewer beams this time, we are able to limit the closure of the A46 to 8pm on Saturday 11 to 10am on Sunday 12 December.

"Should the weather be favourable, we would hope the A46 could be opened before the advertised time."
