The latest update on the £38 million A46 Stoneleigh Island works has been released by Warwickshire County Council.

Having started in December 2020, the works will continue until at least summer 2022 and will see a new roundabout, and bridge built at the site.

Through October the new northbound on-slip and southbound off-slip have progressed, with kerbing and foundations now completed.

The new kerbing also includes drainage. As well as the new slip roads, Stoneleigh Road east has been rekirbed as well.

A temporary cofferdam has been built on the north side of Finham Brook - this will allow works below the water table.

The narrow lanes and 50mph speed limit remain in place around the junction, with speed cameras in place to enforce new regulations

The new slip roads are also set to have tarmac laid on them this November. Once tarmac has been laid, traffic will begin to use the new slip roads to allow the workforce to start installing the new bridges.

Earthworks are also set to continue which will see the land around the new Dalehouse Lane roundabout raised significantly.

The northbound carriageway is due to be closed at night later in the month. WCC also said that at least one of the new slip roads will be open by the end of the month.
