More delays to new planning application for expansion of Kenilworth primary school

A fresh planning application for a Kenilworth primary school's expansion has been delayed further, the county council has confirmed.
The £6 million redevelopment at St John's Primary School and Nursery was due to be finished last year, but the project has been continually put back.
Earlier this year, Warwickshire County Council told Nub News a new planning application was needed before the scheme can progress.
This was due to be put forward by the end of August but is yet to come forward.
An update from the local authority this week said: "It was our intention to submit the planning application by the end of August, unfortunately the submission has been delayed due to requiring further information and a greater understanding of the impact of the haul road required to support the buildability of the project."
Warwickshire County Council has already signed off on a £6 million budget to create 200 extra places at St John's.
The council's website now says the project is due for completion in July 2027.

Following the latest delays, Cllr Richard Dickson told Nub News: "Submission of the new planning application for the £6m special educational needs facilities at St John's Primary School in Kenilworth was said to be imminent in July.
"I've chased twice in August. I was promised it would be submitted by 31 August. It wasn't.
"This huge and vital project was delayed under the previous Conservative administration. Not much seems to have changed.
"I'm doing what I can to stand up for the children, families, school staff and local residents who are missing out.
"It might not be on the scale of the bridge to nowhere, but given that it involves our children's future, it's at least equally frustrating."

In December Nub News reported surveys of the local roads were needed before the previous planning application for the project was determined.
Councillors were also told there was no guarantee the costs would not rise.
Eventually the scheme - which has already had a public consultation - will see the 200 extra places filled over the next seven years.
The original planning application would have seen three major extensions built at the Mortimer Road school to make it two-form entry as the number of students doubled.
The development also plans to make space for up to 14 places for children with education, health and care plans (EHCPs) who can be catered for in a mainstream school.
