A man has been charged with arson following a blaze at a local coach depot over the weekend.

Firefighters and police were called to the blaze at Johnsons Coaches on Liveridge Hill at 1.36am on Saturday 30 November.

Multiple coaches were caught alight, as were six other cars parked in the vicinity.

Warwickshire Police "quickly" arrested 29-year-old Christopher White from Croome Close in Redditch at the scene.

He has subsequently been charged with arson not endangering life.

He has been remanded in custody and will appear before Warwick Crown Court on Monday, 6 January.

Johnsons said on Facebook page: "The incident was well coordinated, and the fire was successfully contained and extinguished, but it caused significant damage to multiple coaches and cars.

"We would like to thank the emergency services for their swift response and our staff and local community for their support during this difficult time."
