A new web page aiming to boost accessibility in Kenilworth has been launched by the town council.
Kenilworth Town Council last year announced the project, after several issues around access to Warwick Road and the wider town centre were spotted.
And now a new ‘Accessible Kenilworth’ map has been launched, helping to highlight facilities and support around the town centre.
Speaking at last week’s full council meeting, Cllr Zoe Leventhal said: “It is the culmination of a lot of work of a number of us for over a year now.
“With huge thanks to Cllr David Bailey for his IT wizardry, we now have an Accessible Kenilworth page on the Kenilworth Town Council website which contains a map with a range of useful information about facilities and services in Kenilworth which are accessible to people with visible and invisible disabilities.
“We are hoping this will demonstrate Kenilworth’s commitment to being an inclusive town and community, being as accessible to everyone within our community.”
Described as a “work in progress”, feedback is still being sought on the page.
A number of local businesses have already been given the chance to provide feedback.
Cllr James Kennedy added: “I would like to add my thanks to Cllr Leventhal, Cllr Bailey and others involved for taking this through.
“It’s been a lot of work and has taken some time, but I think the result looks excellent.”
