Major delays have been reported on the M40 around Warwick after a collision between a car and a lorry.

Traffic has now been released on the motorway southbound between J15 Warwick and J14 Heathcote following the incident.

The road had been closed with traffic held on the carriageway.

But National Highways is reporting 50 minute delays.

Emergency services are at the scene.

"Traffic has been released and all lanes have re-opened on the M40 in Warwickshire southbound between J15 Warwick and J14 Heathcote following a collision," a National Highways update said.

"Residual delays of at least 50 minutes above normal travel times, please still allow extra journey time."

Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service said it has two fire engines from Leamington at the scene.
