Locals will have to wait until July to see the much-delayed Abbey Fields Management Plan.

Updating members at the latest Kenilworth Town Council meeting, Cllr Kate Dickson read a letter from the district council.

"As way of an update, and as we promised, we are near completion of an executive summary of the management plan which will be circulated to all stakeholders in March," the letter said.

But it also said the plan would not be considered by Warwick District Council's cabinet until its July meeting where it would be made available to the public.

"All members will be equally disappointed," Cllr Dickson added.

"I just have the feeling of this time four years ago, I don't feel like we are very much ahead.

"Although I do know that a whole lot of work has been done, and we do now have a target date for this."

The news comes ahead of a public meeting in Abbey Fields tomorrow (March 4) on the future of the lake.

And before WDC's cabinet discusses the possible cycle paths through the park next week.
