Locals blast 'ridiculous' plans to close two Kenilworth roads at the same time for HS2

Residents have blasted the "ridiculous decision" by HS2 to close two neighbouring roads into Kenilworth.
The high speed rail developer has announced both Crackley Lane and Kenilworth Road will close in June, the latter for the best part of two months.
The closures - which come following continued calls from Kenilworth Town Council not to shut multiple roads at the same time - have been met with anger on social media.
"HS2 is the gift that keeps on giving... (well more taking than giving)," one local said.
Another added: "At this point [I] think they expect people to use flying cars just to get to work, it's getting a joke."
A third said: "I just honestly didn't think that they would close everything all at the same time…..again!"
Crackley Lane will shut from June 2 until June 21 for "utility and drainage installation works".
Meanwhile Kenilworth Road will be shut from June 2 until July 20. HS2 will be using the closure to finish embankments, reinstate and resurface the footpaths, position final utilities and complete highway drainage works.
Other locals said the announcement was "taking the absolute mick" and another called it "ridiculous".
"That's terrible for commuters! Glad that I don't drive! HS2 is very detrimental to Kenilworth," one Facebook user wrote.
Another simply said: "This bloody fiasco gets more and more ridiculous by the day."
HS2 has been approached for comment.
