A former MEP and current CEO of the British Chamber of Trade for Brussels is to be the main speaker at an exclusive Kenilworth event this May.

Locally-born, Daniel Dalton will be speaking at an event organised by Kenilworth Chamber of Trade on May 26.

Dan will be talking about the state of the EU-UK relations, the recently signed trade agreement with the EU and what it means for Kenilworth businesses. He will also discuss the future of trade relationships.

Available to members of Kenilworth Chamber of Trade as well as to the general public, the event will be held on Zoom from 8.00pm on May 26.

Tickets cost £5 for Kenilworth Chamber of Trade members and £10 for non-members.

Before working for the chamber, Dan was the Conservative MEP for the West Midlands between 2015 and 2019. He focused on encouraging trade across Europe, in addition to the Brexit negotiations.

Dan is a local lad, he grew up in Kenilworth and studied at both Coventry and Warwick universities. As well as working in the town's pubs, particularly the old Tut N'Shive (now the Bear and Ragged Staff), he is still very active in the area having a local business based in the town.

Dan has played for Warwickshire County Cricket Club's second eleven and List A cricket for Warwickshire Cricket Board. He also worked on the club and the county boards' youth development system.

Events coordinator for Kenilworth Chamber of Trade Gina Reinge said: "Kenilworth chamber is delighted to be hosting this event. Many local businesses will be struggling with the new trade rules and this is a perfect opportunity for them to ask questions and get information from a true expert in this area."
