Learn how cider is made at 'Blossom Festival' this weekend

Learn how cider is made at a free community festival in Stoneleigh this weekend.
Stoneleigh Community Orchard is welcoming locals to its Blossom Festival on Saturday (May 17) for a day of fun, food and drink.
Running from 2.30pm to 4.30pm the event along the River Sowe will include tours of the orchard, a quiz, children's crafts, cider tasting and even Morris dancing.
A number of local businesses will also be gathering at the orchard to sell their wares.
This will be followed by a BBQ at Stoneleigh Village Club from 5pm.

Now managed by a community interest company (CIC), Stoneleigh Orchard is run and cared for by a dedicated group of locals, who now plough the profits from the cider they produce back into the local area.
The project dates back to 2011 when now group chairman Pete Freeman was approached by the Meadow Society - which owns the land - to find a new purpose for the three acre plot.
The first 31 cider apple trees were planted on 3 December 2011.
Each year the orchard produces around 2,000 litres of cider.
