Kenilworth’s cycling weekend: how you can get involved
By Isabelle Miller 18th Aug 2026
The Lloyds Tour of Britain Women is returning to Kenilworth for its final stage on Sunday 23 August.
The closing stage of the UK's premier women's stage race will bring world-class riders into the heart of Warwickshire, showcasing the county to a national and international audience as the race reaches its dramatic conclusion.
From the start in Leamington, the 77-mile (123.8km) route will head north to Kenilworth, before heading through Stoneleigh towards Princethorpe, along the Fosse Way to Wellesbourne and Shipston-on-Stour.
Riders will then tackle Sun Rising Hill and Burton Dassett Hills Country Park before heading to Southam and back to Leamington.
Mayor of Kenilworth Cllr Alison Insley is helping locals to celebrate the tour with a series of events over the weekend.
Friday 21 August
Cllr Insley is set to ride over 80 miles on a spin bike, just over the distance the tour is set to ride on Sunday, to raise money for Warwickshire Search & Rescue and Warwickshire Hearts.
Locals are welcome to join her from 8am at the new Abbey Fields swimming pool.
Warwickshire Search & Rescue will be showing demonstrations of their throw lines, and Warwickshire Hearts will be demonstrating CPR.
Saturday 22 August
Join Kenilworth Rugby Club in creating a moving, human bicycle.
The club is hosting the challenge at midday at the Cowpatch, using hay bales and any willing participants to create the bicycle.
They ask that anyone interested in participating wear a black top.
The club is also hosting a virtual cycling demonstration, as well as a bouncy castle, DJ and kids fun zone alongside their rugby bash.
Sunday 23 August
The Britain Women cycling event is due to enter Kenilworth between 11 am and 12 pm, after setting off from Leamington.
Locals can watch as it passes down Warwick Road, before heading towards Princethorpe.
In a video posted to the Abbey Fields Swimming Pool Facebook page, Mayor Insley said: "Please line the streets, support the ladies, support the cycling and let's see the Kenilworth community out in force."
